Pakistan is regarded as one of the poorest countries in the world and has one of the lowest literacy rate according to the United Nation Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisations (UNESCO). With one of the poorest literacy rates we also have 40% of people living below poverty line.

Even with these facts, we still have rich people in Pakistan, not the richest people in the world but the richest in Pakistan.

Here are 20 of the richest people in Pakistan.

20. Adalat Chaudhary


£150m ($300m) – Businessman.

Director of the London-based Bestway cash-and-carry business established by Sir Anwar Pervez.

19. Aqeel Karim Dhedi


£230m ($460) – Businessman

Owner of AKD group which operates in key sectors of Pakistans economy ranging from stocks, shares, media, textile, real estate and oil!

18. Mukhtar Ahmed


£230m ($460) – Businessman

Recently Mr Ahmed bought a stake in allied bank worth $300 million and runs Ibrahim group with diversified business interest such as spinning to PSF.

A real estate tycoon,  a leading investor in stocks, metals and currency and is even recognised as a person who was the brain behind Pakistan’s Nuclear program along with Dr Qadeer.
