Two “bongs” have been unearthed by archaeologists in Russia.
But these aren’t your everyday bongs that the average teenager can purchase. Why? Because they are made out of solid gold. Tests have confirmed that these bongs were used for drugs as residues of opium and cannabis were found in them.
It is believed the bongs were used by the Scythian tribes, a warrior-race known for controlling large parts of Asia and Europe from 9th century BC to 4th century AD.
According to Ancient Greek historian, Herodotus,
Scythians used a plant to produce smoke that no Grecian vapour-bath can surpass and that “transported by the vapour, [they] shout aloud.
It is believed that inhaling these substances can alter the mindset of warriors during war.
… or perhaps they just smoked it to get high!
Irrespective of its usage, this bong is utterly remarkable.
