More than 60 tattoo artists from Russia, Belarus and London inked their new creations on tattoo enthusiast to win awards at the Sochi International Tattoo Festival held in Russia.
Artists showed their skills by inking different tattoos and body art at the 3 day festival. The artists drew various creations on thighs, backs, arms and other body parts, hoping to impress judges to win awards in 16 categories ranging from color and cover-up tattoos to the most hyper realistic tattoo!
Hollywood actor Clint Eastwood even made a colorful appearance — on an enthusiast’s chest. Many believe to have just a single tattoo somewhat a taboo.
A tattoo enthusiast said that she believes herself as an avid collector of tattoos.
“I have had tattoos done in many places. I have tattoos made by artists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. I have had them done by twenty artists. So one could say I’m a collector.”
Another tattoo fan says that getting tattooed is a hobby
“It’s kind of a hobby for me, let’s say it like that. It’s what I like to do, I get satisfaction this way. With every tattoo I satisfy some of my needs and I like it.”
Sochi artist Evgeny Sidenko said the festival was a chance to exchange experiences and ideas with other professionals.
