The Institute of Economics and Peace carried out an in-depth statistical analysis of the number of deaths directly attributable to terrorist attacks that occurred in 2015. The annual report Global Terrorism Index compares the effects of terrorism on different countries. The index looks at the top 50 countries most at risk from terrorism, and rates them in terms of levels of danger.
The website states:
“It is believed that nearly 78 percent of global terrorism-related deaths occurred in [top] five countries alone, further emphasizing the alarming domestic situations in these places.”
