Who said video games are dangerous? Well aparently they are. Here are some stories of people who died or had killed other people over video games.

1. Peter Burkowski

Peter was an 18-year-old student that stopped into an arcade to play a game called Berzerk. After getting a high score he turned away from it to play some other game, and as soon as he put his quarter in, collapsed from a heart attack. The autopsy revealed scar tissue in Peter’s heart that effectively made him a “ticking time bomb” set off by a video game which apparently increased his blood pressure and heart rate dramatically.

2. Zhu Caoyuan

Mr. Zhu Caoyuan didn’t die from the game but what he did in the game. Qiu Chegwei lent his Dragon Sabre for the online game Legend of Mir 3 to Mr. Zhu Caoyuan. Mr. Zhu sold that sword for about $675. Mr. Chegwei, got disgruntled and stabbed Mr. Zhu Caoyuan with a very real knife, killing him.

3. Xiao Yi

Xiao was 13 when he jumped from the top of a 24-story building. The note he left behind for his parents was written from the point of view of a video game character. Further, the note detailed his wish to meet three of his gaming friends in the afterlife

4. Hsieth

Hsieth 32 was at an Internet Café in Taiwan when he died of cardiac arrest. He played games nonstop for three days. When he passed, no one knew he was dead. He was known to sleep facing down on the table during these game binges.

5. Dinh The Dan

In 2007, A 13-year-old boy named Dinh The Dan killed an 81-year-old woman and stole her money in order to fund an online gaming addiction. Vietnamese police report that Dan strangled the woman with a piece of rope, then buried her in a pile of sand in front of his house.

6. Tyrone Spellman

Tyrone a 27 year old man, played long hours on his Xbox. So, when his 17-month-old daughter pulled on some cords and tipped the Xbox to the ground, breaking it, he become completely enraged. He struck her with such force that it “cracked her skull several times.”

7. Chuang

An 18-year-old Taiwanese gamer named Chuang reportedly died in July of 2012 after a 40-hour marathon of Diablo . He was also playing at an internet cafe

8. Zhang

Zhang a 26-year-old man, died of heart failure after a week-long marathon of online gaming during a national holiday.

9. Jennifer Strange

Jennifer Strange a 28-year-old wife and mother of three from Sacramento, California willingly participated in a local radio station’s giveaway promotion entitled “Hold Your Wee for a Wii,” in which she drank over two gallons of water and refused to urinate in hopes of obtaining a Nintendo Wii.

10. Anna-Lee Kehoe

Anna-Lee Kehor a thirteen-year-old girl, was casually talking, hanging out, and playing with her Xbox 360 before muttering, “Mom, I can’t breathe.” She suffered a heart attack so severe that she was left brain dead and on life-support.
