3. Obesity
People who are obese the part of their brain responsible for memory and decision making had to work harder than those people of average weight.
4. Sugar
Studies show that having a lot of sugar daily slows the brain hampering memory and learning.
5. Less sleep
Lack of sleep slows down cognitive function and can affect your memory and critical thinking.
6. Reality TV
An Australian study showed a group of participants a reality show and then made them take a test. Those people who watched the show did badly on the test than those who didn’t.
7. Lack of iodine
Iodine deficiency can lead to a 13 point decrease in IQ
8. Multi tasking
Doing many things at the same time will lead you to have concentration issues, and short term memory loss. Concentrating on one task is better than multi tasking.
9. Jet lag
Jet lag causes short term memory issues and cause problems with cognitive function.
10. Getting spanked
5 percent of all mental disorders are caused by being spanked or other forms of childhood physical abuse. Those people who were spanked as children had lower IQ’s than those who weren’t.
