Everyone brushes their teeth, it’s something you have to do there is no question about it. Unless you don’t want anyone to speak to you, want tooth aches and mouth diseases then please by all means don’t brush your teeth. But if you are one of those people who wants to keep their teeth healthy and clean, make sure you aren’t making these mistakes while brushing your teeth:
1. You brush too hard
Brushing your teeth really hard is bad for your teeth and gums, brushing too hard can over stress the gum tissue causing it to recede exposing part of the tooth making your teeth sensitive to hot and cold.
2. Your bristles are too hard
You’re probably thinking hard bristles are good for your teeth but you’re wrong, Hard bristles weaken tooth enamel
3. You’re not brushing long enough
You should brush your teeth for at least two minutes
4. Your tooth brush is too big
If your tooth brushes head is too big you’re not getting the compact small areas you need to.
5. You’re brushing too often
Brush your teeth up to a maximum of thrice a day. Any more than that then you’re eroding your enamel.
6. Rinsing your mouth with water after brushing your teeth
You shouldn’t rinse your mouth with water after brushing because you spit out the flouride which is what you need to keep your mouth clean.
7. Putting a cover on your tooth brush
Putting your tooth brush in a moist box is a recipe for germs.
8. Eating before brushing
Brushing your teeth after directly after eating is bad for you. Wait 30 minutes after eating to go brush your teeth
9. Not brushing your tounge
Yes our tounge needs to be cleaned too. It’s also the cause of bad breath
10. Not brushing before bed
You need to brush your teeth at the end of the day to in a way disinfect it and prevent mouth diseases.
11. Bad angle
Brush your teeth at a 45 degree angle so you can hit your tooth and gums at the same time.
12. Brush in circles
Brushing up and down isn’t good for you. Brush in small circles instead.
