18 Things Only An Independent DESI Woman Will Understand!

Apparently, women are supposed to be fragile and weak and men are responsible to protect women and provide for them. If you are a woman and independent then you are not following the norms. But if you happen to be a DESI independent woman then you, my dear friend, go through A LOT every day!
Here’s what happens when you are a DESI independent woman:
1. Nobody actually understands what being an independent woman means
2. Like every other girl, you wish to own a house, a car and be able to fulfill all your desires BUT YOU WON’T RELY ON A MAN for any of these
3. You don’t need a man to protect you from anyone. You can take care of yourself.
4. Neither do you need a man to make you happy! You are self-sufficient
5. You would love to have a romantic relationship with the right man but you wouldn’t want to compromise on your values.
6. The only men you can bear in your life are those who respect women.
7. You want to be appreciated for your intelligence and the work you do and not for your beauty and sensuousness
8. “Itna pardhne ka kya faida jab baad mei ghar hi sambhalna hai” pisses you off more than anything else
9. Your goal is to prove every sexist idea wrong, especially this: “Lardke burdhape ka sahara hote hain”
10. You make your own decisions.
11. Being a home maker or working mother is not a debate for you. You know you will make the right decision at the right time.
12. You can support your family both financially and emotionally.
13. You don’t care about “Log kya kahenge”
14. And that is the reason why your relatives think you are a BAD GIRL!
15. Marriage is not the FIRST thing on your list. It is on the list though, but you won’t tie the knot just because you are 25!
16. People often think you will fail to keep your married life intact because you are just too headstrong!
17. You will do anything to make a relationship work but you will not stay in a toxic relationship and compromise on your values or neglect yourself
18. You will never advice another woman to unnecessarily compromise in a relationship
