There were some big scandals that Pakistan encountered this year starting from fake degrees to million dollar model girl to the insane black Friday sales, year 2015 has given a lot of scandalous things to the Pakistanis to think about.

We have gathered ten big scandals that Pakistan faced this year:

1. Ayyan Ali- The million dollar baby

Supermodel Ayyan Ali was arrested from Islamabad airport for smuggling $500,000. The model was caught and interrogated, but had no clear answers to satisfy the airport security force. She was taken to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

Crime never pays Ayyan, hopefully you know that by now.

2. Axact - The fake diploma mill

A company claiming to be the leading IT Company in Pakistan was raided by the FIA for selling fake degrees to a global audience for a good amount of money. The FIA recovered 2.2 million fake degrees during the raids at the Axact office.

Think twice before setting up an I.T. firm please. And know what is needed is data and most certainly not fake degrees.

3. Imran Khan and Reham Khan- The short love story

The short lived love story was one of the biggest scandals of 2015. Imran and Reham announced their divorce over twitter, the marriage lasted for a short duration of 10 months, this was heart breaking news for all PTI fans, and the slogan ‘tabdeeli aa nahi rahi hai tabdeeli achuki hai’ made rounds all over social media.

Haters will be haters, if you love Imran Khan for who he is, his marriage ending shouldn’t bother you.

4. Table No 21- The ridiculous advertising

Right after the divorce of the political couple, there was a restaurant marketing campaign, which basically went too far with its advertising. They not only used the couples divorce to get attention, but their entire marketing strategy was based on feminist and sexist ads.

5. Komal Rizvi – The unwanted selfie

Komal Rizvi’s selfie was also quite the scandal, with her happily posing with a not so healthy Edhi Sahb on the hospital bed.

Careful with Selfies next time please.

6. Qandeel Baloch- The wanna be internet star

No one knows who she is? And why is she so famous, but she has been posting videos to get some kind of following. She also replies back to the comments on her Facebook page in the form of videos.

Guess what Qandeel, we think you aren’t doing such a good job.

7. Hardees- The fresh buns

Everyone likes Hardees; and there is no denying that the food they offer is good, however they over exaggerated their promotional campaigns of Hardees ‘fresh buns’. While some think it was a form of successful subliminal advertising, it wasn’t the best for a majority of Pakistani population.

Don’t make us hate fresh buns Hardees.

8. Black Friday Sale- A black day in history of Pakistani sales

Pakistani women can wrestle, yes that’s what was sadly promoted all over social media and making rounds in the newspapers, as women fought over a black Friday sale in a leading Pakistani mall, because women apparently care more about wearing a branded kurti, if they get bruises in the process, it’s totally fine.

Easy on the sales Pakistani women!

9. Zardari’s Marriage – ‘Part two’

There were reports of Asif Ali Zardari getting married to Dr Tanveer Zamani, and of his family being upset with his second marriage saga. But these were just rumor’s as Zamani clarified that her relationship with Zardari was that of a leader and brother.

10. The Ad wars of the telecoms

Seeing Nargis Fakhri lying upside down on the front page of a newspaper, promoting mobilink is not what an avid newspaper reader would generally like to see, but there she was in red, with text photoshoped all around her body. Many twitterati’s condemned the ad as being ‘obscene’ and ‘unwanted’.

Ufone gave a smart answer to this ad by their marketing campaign that had Faisal Qureshi (known for his presence in most of ufone ads) lying upside down with ufone’s phone in his hand, and the text at the bottom reads ‘is ad ko chupaney ki bhi zarorat nahin’
