A fitbit is a heart monitor most fitness fanatics wear, it tracks your heart rate, footsteps and calories burnt.
But Koby Soto a 28 year old man found out the Fitbit could also find out the exact moment his heart broke when his boyfriend broke up with him.
Soto received a phone call from his boyfriend when they were supposed to meet
He said that we’re going to have to cancel, and I said ‘Why?’ and he said, ‘Things are not working as they should,’” Soto tells Buzzfeed News.
“I said, ‘Are you serious? You’re doing this over the phone?’” he went on.
Soto spoke to his friend about what happened and saw the result of the break up on his fitness app.
You can clearly see the exact moment his heart broke. His average heart rate was 72 beats per minute and when he received the call it immediately jumped to 88 beats per minute, nearly reaching 118 until it came back to normal at night.
Soto is glad he caught the heartbreak
“I feel like it’s nice to have a log of your confirmation of what you felt. You can tell people you have heartbreak and you feel bad.”
“people become less cynical once you show them the numbers or once you show the data or graphs. Everyone understands heartbreak, right? Everyone’s felt it. When you have this, it’s interesting — you have something to show.”
