A baby girl with two heads was born in Bangladesh, late Wednesday.

The baby has now been shifted to an intensive care unit at the country’s largest hospital in Dhaka and is being treated for breathing difficulties.

“When I saw my baby, I was awestruck. She has two fully developed heads. She is eating with two mouths and breathing with two noses,” her father, Jamal Mia, told the AFP news agency. “Still, I thank Allah that she and the mother are now okay”, he added.

Her father, a poor farm labourer, is said to be concerned about how he will be able to afford the expenses for care his daughter will need.

Tests have shown the child has only one set of vital organs, said Abu Kawsar, owner of the Standard Hospital of Total Healthcare where the baby was born. He said,

“Except for having two heads, the newborn has the rest of her organs and limbs like a normal newborn”.

Thousands of curious people have flocked to the hospital in Dhaka to see the “miracle newborn”.
