Bride’s Grandma and Groom’s Grandma Team up as Flower Girls for Their Wedding

Traditionally, flower girls are aged between three to ten years of age, but when Josh and Maggie Wakefield got married recently; their flower girls were somewhat old! The two flower girls had a combined age of 149 years.
How? Because their grandmas were flower girls! The couple honored their grandmas in the sweetest way possible on their wedding day ― by asking them to become co-flower girls.
The bride said that she always had a special bond with her grandma.
“She is like a second mother to me, I have so many fond memories of my sister and I sleeping over at my grandmother’s house as children making homemade sugar cookies. My grandparents have been a huge support in my life and I learned to really value their opinions and stories.”
She says that the groom is also close with his grandma:
“She has been a huge influence in Josh’s life,” Maggie said. “She is one of the most caring, gentle and thoughtful women that I know. Having our grandmothers as the flower girls meant the world to us!” she said
