The first Pakistani female pop star, Nazia Hassan lost her battle against cancer and passed away on August 13, 2000. Today is her 15th death anniversary.

Known for her soulful voice and evergreen songs, Nazia Hassan was also a political analyst for the United Nations in New York and became a cultural ambassador for Pakistan in 1991.
