Recently, however, Game of Thrones suffered through a major loss - not unlike the kind we have felt while watching the series. Unfortunately, this was real and our hearts go out to the deceased’s family and friends. In this wretched incident, an editor of the show met with her untimely death. The death was caused due to a lion attack.

Her tour stopped to look at some lions. To get better pictures, Katherine rolled down her window. At first, the lion’s weren’t bothered or interested in people taking pictures; they went about their regular business, they stretched and kicked themselves, others just lay around lazily. But suddenly, without warning, the lioness stood up and bit the passenger.

Engineer Ben Govender, 38, who was in the car behind Miss Chappell said,

“It was terrifying. After the first bite the lioness retreated from the car with blood dripping from her mouth and paw. We all thought she was done and didn’t like what she’d just bitten. But then like someone in a temper that wasn’t satisfied in a fight, she leaped back into the car and mauled the passenger.”

There was blood dripping from the lionesses mouth and paw as she retreated from the car. Govender further said,

The rangers came running in and the two lions ran off, but the lioness had half the passenger’s shoulder in her mouth. And it was too late to do anything to save her.

There are warning signs in the park cautioning people from rolling down their windows, especially while they go through the lion camp.

Katherine had gone to South Africa to work as a volunteer at a different reserve, one dedicated to saving rhinoceroses and elephants. She had hoped to make a movie about animal poaching.

RIP Katherine.
