The Oscars otherwise known as the Academy awards are an annual American award ceremony for films. Every year the best actors, actresses, films, directors and everyone and everything that has to do with films are given awards.

This year however one issue was brought up, that issue being that all the nominees for the Oscars this year are ALL white! Yes not a single person of a different ethnicity was nominated for an Oscar.

The head of the Oscars Cheryl Boone Isaacs is said to be looking into the matter.

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith wife of Will Smith said she would not be attending the Oscars and spoke more in a video she uploaded on Facebook

Director Spike Lee even said he would not be attending the Oscars for this reason too. He even wrote about it on his Facebook page which you can see here.

Cheryl Boone Isaacs said:

“dramatic steps to alter the makeup of our membership; in the coming days and weeks we will conduct a review of our membership recruitment in order to bring about much-needed diversity in our 2016 class and beyond”.

It is surprising that such issues still exist in our society and especially in America

Reverend Al Sharpton said:

“Hollywood is like the Rocky Mountains, the higher up you get the whiter it gets and this year’s Academy Awards will be yet another Rocky Mountain Oscar.”
