Syrian Children Hold Pokémon Photos To Send Across A Very Important Message
Published: Jul 22, 2024

Children in war-torn Syria have been pictured holding up photos of Pokémon in a ‘plea to the world to come to their rescue’. The signs also state the location of each child. They are all in different Syrian towns.

Children in the war-torn nation are appealing to players of the widely popular Pokémon Go smartphone game, hoping to attract international attention to their plight.

The photos were posted by the Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office (RFS), a media outlet for the working to spread the messages of Syrians against Bashar al-Assasd’s presidential regime.

The images were published after more than 50 civilians were killed by air strikes in northern Syria, the majority of them women and children.

Pictures emerge after five years of a civil war that has left hundreds of thousands dead and seen millions forced to flee their homes.
