The First Olympic Athlete In A Hijab

Meet the first Olympic Athlete who wears a hijab when she competes. Her name is Ibtihaj Muhammad and she competes for the U.S and has qualified for the 2016 Olympics in fencing.
She was even recognised by U.S President Obama when he visited a mosque in Baltimore
Ibtihaj started fencing at the age of 13 which allowed her to be fully covered
She said
“Nothing should hinder a person from reaching their goals. Not race, religion or gender. I want to set an example that anything is possible with perseverance.”
