Sandesh S. Rangnekar, from India, is a creative artist who uses water colours to produce his miniature paintings. He uses delicate leaves as canvas for his portraits!
Each leaf is soaked in water for several days before it can be painted.
The process of turning green peepal leaves into flimsy net leaf takes 30-40 days and Sandesh’s painting takes up to two days to complete.
That is Mona Lisa looking at her viewers from the back of a tiny peepal leaf.
This is Queen Elizabeth.
Who does not know, who this is! The charming King Khan!
And that is BIG B smiling right through the leaf! And this is one of the most intricate portraits of him that we’ve seen till date.
This fine portrait of the king of pop will just blow you away!
The portrait of Marilyn Monroe holding down her dress as it blows up is marvelous.
Ragnekar is specially very proud of Monroe’s portrait:
“Capturing her subtle smile and expression was a really daunting task, I don’t think I could do it again, but the final product has given me more confidence in my abilities”
