Aamir Khan has been getting a lot of hate for making a statement at Ramnath Goenka Awards function of The Indian Express Group.
This is what he said at the function:
When I chat with Kiran at home, she says, ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. …As an individual, as part of this country as a citizen, we read in the papers what is happening, we see it on the news and certainly, I have been alarmed. I can’t deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents.
Apart from the hate he’s been getting online, Shiv Sena in Ludhiana Punjab, has gone a step further and have announced an ‘award’ for Rs. 1 Lac to anyone who will slap Aamir Khan.
Punjab Shiv Sena chief Rajeev Tandon said this on Wednesday:
Any person who slaps Aamir Khan will be rewarded Rs 1 lakh by the Shiv Sena. This is important because no one living in our country should dare to say anything against India… Anyone from the hotel staff or the film crew can slap him and take the reward.
Aamir Khan is currently shooting for a film in Ludhiana and has his security increased because of the growing protests.
Rajeev Tandon also encouraged the staff of the hotel he’s staying in and the film crew to slap Aamir Khan.
“We give an opportunity to the manager and employees of the hotel and also the team of his film to slap Aamir and get Rs 1 lakh from us. The courageous and patriotic persons who will slap Aamir Khan in Ludhiana will get Rs 1 lakh reward per slap from us.”
