Our bodies are 70% water and it is a great habit to drink water every chance you get but the one time you shouldn’t drink water is while you are eating.

Yup the worst thing you can do while eating is drink water. Here’s what happens when you drink water in between a meal:
1. It slows down digestion
When we digest our food the first thing that helps digestion is your saliva. The saliva prompts the stomach to release enzymes for digestive purposes. When we drink water the saliva present in our mouth reduces causing the digestion process to slow down.
2. It causes acidity
When we drink a lot of water our stomach absorbs it, but after a certain point when water is absorbed to it’s full capacity our stomach absorbs the acids made by our stomach. This causes acidity.
3. Make you gain weight
Drinking water with meals can raise your insulin levels and the more insulin in your blood stream the higher the chance of you storing fat in your body.
