We live in a world where there are a million stereotypes about Muslims, especially women. Thanks to media, we are bombarded with misinformation and over-generalization everyday of our lives.

It is commonly believed that women who live in the Middle East are oppressed and do not enjoy any freedom in their lives. Hijab or abbaya is also seen as a sign of oppression in the word.

In a video shot at Dubai’s World Government Summit, Bustle interviewed several Muslim women on the misconceptions they’ve faced, and asked them to explain the reality of their day-to-day lives.
